Dr. Padilla is employed by Nicklaus Children’s Pediatric Specialists, the physician-led multispecialty group practice of Nicklaus Children’s Health System. He is chief of the Department of Pediatric Psychiatry and a child and adolescent psychiatrist at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital. Dr. Padilla earned his medical degree from Universidad Autónoma de Santo Domingo in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He then completed a residency in adult psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons/New York Psychiatric Institute at New York-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City, followed by a fellowship in child psychiatry at the same institution. His clinical interests include attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), mood disorders and psychotic disorders.
 
Dr. Padilla is board certified in both general psychiatry and child and adolescent psychiatry. He is a member of the American Psychiatry Association, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Florida Psychoanalytic Society “Friends,” and the Florida Psychiatric Society. Dr. Padilla is active in clinical research, where his most recent endeavor involved treatment options for children with ADHD. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals and he has lectured nationally and internationally.
 
Dr. Padilla sees patients at the Nicklaus Children’s Hospital main campus. He is bilingual in English and Spanish.
